- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup turkey bacon, chopped
- 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, sugar, and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and turkey bacon. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- In a large pot, combine the cooked macaroni, caramelized onion mixture, and shredded cheeses. Mix well.
- Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon.
- Make sure to stir well for even cheese distribution.
