Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, sugar, and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and turkey bacon. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. In a large pot, combine the cooked macaroni, caramelized onion mixture, and shredded cheeses. Mix well.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon.
  • Make sure to stir well for even cheese distribution.
